The Local Organizing Committee of FINA 2022 Budapest has partnered with Hungarian Civilút Alapítvány (Civil Way Foundation) to establish a charity cooperation.
Through the distribution of 3000 free tickets, the agreement aims to provide wider access to the events of the Championships to disadvantaged groups, including the physically, mentally and socially challenged. Large families, families with single parents and health care workers will also have the opportunity to attend the sporting events through the program.
“It was a great commitment from the Hungarian Government and the local organizers that we managed to put together this gigantic event in a record time. We want to share the experience with as many people as possible. Thanks to Civilút Foundation, we can also include those who cannot afford to buy tickets – commented Sándor Wladár, President of the Hungarian Swimming Association and Head of the Local Organizing Committee. – It is through these programs that many children can meet and fall in love with aquatic sports for the first time. Who knows, perhaps one of these children will be a future champion, so the biggest winner of this charity program could be Hungarian swimming itself.”
“We are very proud to be the Charity Program Supporter of FINA 2022 Budapest and be able to help disabled, disadvantaged groups and health care workers to enjoy the competitions. Our goal is to share the unique atmosphere and the community building power of the event with a wide audience – said Andrea Gulyás, curator of Civilút Foundation.
